About Operation Horses and Heroes…
Statistically 22 Military Veterans take their own lives daily. It's a horrible number but it's being addressed in many ways in the private sector. It doesn't take long to search and find organizations, usually started and/or run by veterans working hard to help their brothers and sisters to cope and overcome. One such organization is Operation Horses and Heroes. A 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, Equine Assisted Therapy Program working with veterans and active duty suffering with PTSD.An intensive 3 day program run at no expense to the veterans, is supported by donations, fundraisers, sponsorship and volunteers. Operation Horses and Heroes has had programs in 8 states .The letters received by participants and their families since the start in 2013 has make it very clear that lives have not only been changed for the better but also saved from that horrible statistic. 100% of monies raised are put towards the program. None of the organizers, board members or officers are paid staff. It's 100% volunteer in every aspect.
